SCW Live Event – 08.29.09
Location: National Guard Armory in Winder, GA

Joey Kidman came out to run down the card to start the show. The crowd was hot in anticipation of the latest showdown between the Cruisers and the 404 Mafia. Kidman also reminded the fans of the questionable ending to the Hawkins/Castle match on the last show. These statements brought out Colby Castle, whose ribs were taped up.

“I know a lot of rumors are going around right now about what the Hell that big, dumb, Texan was thinking last time we were here. Hell, I want to know what Hawkins was thinking. But right now, I got more important things to ruminate over Kidman. It’s me and Powers at the final table when we come back here on September 12. The purse? The Southern Heritage Championship. That’s a belt I’d like to have Kidman ---“

Castle found himself cut off by his opponent in the finals of the Southern Heritage Championship tournament, Brad Powers.

“Listen up Colby, because I’m about to give you the deal of a lifetime. Everyone knows that the ‘Southern Gentleman’ is loaded to bare, by which I mean: richer than your aunt after a night with, well, you fill in the blanks buddy. I’m laying down the offer right now: $500,000. Take it, walk away, go play poker in Louisiana with that fat idiot Belue, I don’t care. All you have to do is, walk away.”

Castle laughed and shook his head before slapping the taste from Powers’ mouth!

“Who the Hell do you think you are Powers?”

Powers didn’t answer, instead letting opting to let 370 lbs of Chett Hawkins do the talking for him! Castle was blindsided by the big, burly Texan. While Hawkins laid the boots to Castle, Powers re-took the microphone.

“You should have taken the payoff idiot! You should have been smart like Hawkins and taken the payoff! Instead, you can just pay big!”

Powers joined in on the ambush but was quickly sent scurrying by the arrival of none other than Billy Murdoch! Murdoch and Hawkins came face-to-face and quickly to blows! The massive men staggered one another with vicious punches left and right! A swarm of referees and wrestlers ended up separating the two and Hawkins finally left the interview stage.

The calamity brought out SCW owner Ken Wisenbaker.

“I tell you what, you four men want to beat the Hell out of one another? Well tonight it’ll be Castle and Murdoch taking on Powers and Hawkins!”

The crowd, Murdoch, and Castle responded favorably. With the energy of the crowd amplified, Kidman announced the opening match.

*******************************************************************
The Baker Brothers (Eric Baker & Jeff Baker)
vs.
Ted Harper & Derek Little
*******************************************************************

The smash-mouth, UGA-grads were not in the ring for pleasantries. While Eric suplexed Harper out of his britches, Jeff managed to take out Little with various kicks. The end result was a Skyliner on Harper for a Baker Brothers’ victory.

RESULT: The Bakers Brothers win via pin w/ the Skyliner.

Jeff and Eric approached the interview stage to have a few words. Eric grabbed the mic.

“Now don’t this just beat all Joey Kidman? Two straight shows the fans have to listen to those little sissies out of the Carolinas, the Carolina Connection, about how ‘great’ they are. Well, we challenge ‘em, and damned if those two idiots don’t even bother to show up today. Well, hey, what do you expect from sissies like them? They might not be here today, and they might not even be here next time, but before long they gonna run into the Bulldawg Nation, and what are we gonna do to ‘em then Jeff?”

“SIC ‘EM! WHOOF WHOOF WHOOF”

“’Atta boy.”

After the Baker Brothers left ringside, Joey Kidman announced that the next match would be the big one the fans have waited for. Joey went over the history thus far of the Cruisers and the 404 Mafia, before doing the announcing duties.

*******************************************************************
The 404 Mafia (K-Murda & Lil’ Shan)
vs.
The Cruisers (Mikey Cox & Jimmy Swann)
*******************************************************************

Right away the action was all over the place as both teams tore into one another. While K-Murda and Cox paired off outside the ring, Swann and Shan traded high-risk maneuvers inside. Eventually the referee gained control of the action, finally getting Cox and K-Murda in their respective corners.

Using their quickness, the Cruisers quickly took control over Shan. Using a swinging neckbreaker (by Cox)/fistdrop (by Swann)-combo, it seemed the Cruiser might score the early pinfall. K-Murda broke up the pin, and the chaos caused by his interference was enough for Lil’ Shan to nail Swann low and turn the tide.

From there on, the 404 Mafia maintained control. Using a bevy of impressive tag team maneuvers, such as a leapfrog body guillotine (by Shan) with K-Murda holding Swann, as well as numerous cheating tactics, the 404 Mafia dominated the match. A vicious high knee strike by K-Murda seemed to spell the end, but Swann wouldn’t stay down.

Swann managed to counter a diving shoulderblock from Lil’ Shan with a dropkick that seemed to take both men out. K-Murda, however, prevented the tag allowing the 404 Mafia to continue their assault. The 404 Mafia were unmerciful in their methodical beating on Swann, but Jimmy was able to dodge a bullet when he ducked a big boot from K-Murda and tagged in Cox!

Cox exploded into the ring like a ball of fire, taking it to both members of the 404 Mafia. Cox almost scored the pinfall over Shan with a vicious powerslam, but K-Murda made the save. Swann evened things up, but the Mafia quickly disposed of Cox to the outside. With the momentum and odds back on their side, the Mafia tore into Swann. They attempted an assisted gourdbuster, but Swann kicked Shan away and planted K-Murda with a bulldog!

With Shan dazed, Swann clotheslined the smaller member of the Mafia to the outside! Meanwhile in the ring, Mikey Cox dropped from the second turnbuckle with a legdrop. He would have won the match easily at that point, but the referee was out of position. Cox went to argue with the referee, but was caught with a lowblow by K-Murda and then a gourdbuster. That got the 404 Mafia the duke.

RESULT: The 404 Mafia win via pin w/ the gourdbuster.

Lil’ Shan entered the ring and with K-Murda began to stomp away at Mikey Cox. Jimmy Swann sent them fleeing, however, with a steel chair. As they departed the ringside area, Jimmy yelled:

“This ain’t over!”

Joey Kidman announced an intermission.

As fans returned with food, snacks, and t-shirts from intermission, none other than “Florida’s Finest” Andy Cade made his way to the interview stage. Noticeable by her absence, was one Lady Lila.

“I can already tell, every one of you inbred hicks would like to know where the ‘Lovely’ Lady Lila is, right? Well I’ll tell you: she got sick of you fat, ugly, plowboy hillbillies staring her up-and-down every time she came out here! She got fed up with you! Yeah! I told her, ‘Baby stay home, I’ll handle the Taco Kid by myself.’ And that, my friends, is precisely what this young, black, Florida boy intends to do.”

*******************************************************************
“Florida’s Finest” Andy Cade
vs.
Miguel Rodriguez
*******************************************************************

The action got underway quickly, as both men traded wrestling holds that you simply just don’t see enough of these days. Whenever one man seemed to have the advantage over the other, the other would simply produce a counterhold to re-take the lead. Several times both men found themselves at a stalemate.

After not being able to gain momentum over Rodriguez, Cade took a powder to the outside to collect his thoughts. The fans got riled up with Cade’s tactics. Back in the ring both me continued to trade moves, with neither gaining the advantage. That is, until, Andy made an uncharacteristic rookie mistake, and the veteran Rodriguez drilled him with a jumping, Tornado DDT!

Rodriguez, with the momentum on his side, took to the air with a missile dropkick that somehow the referee ended up in front of (conveniently dodged by Cade). With the referee out, Cade took the opportunity to use just about every dirty trick in the book. By the time the referee came around, “Florida’s Finest” was in firm control with an abdominal stretch. Further to the point, with the referee out of position, Cade used the top rope for extra leverage! Finally he was caught in the act, and the referee forced a break of the hold.

Little good it did the Man from South of the Border, as Cade continued to keep momentum with a series of backbreakers. Despite his best efforts, however, Cade could not secure a pinfall. In fact, Rodriguez managed to surprise Cade by countering a Samoan drop with a sunset flip! It didn’t get the pin, but it gave Rodriguez enough pep in his step to blitz Cade with a flying forearm!

Rodriguez went up top for the frog splash, but Cade pulled the ref in front of him again. Rodriguez hesitated, and with the referee distracted, a fan quickly shot up onto the apron and sprayed some kind of mist into Rodriguez’s eyes! Rodriguez tumbled to the mat, where Cade quickly rolled him up with a schoolboy for the win!

RESULT: “Florida’s Finest” Andy Cade wins via pin w/ a schoolboy roll-up.

While referees tended to Rodriguez in the ring, Kidman quickly caught the “fan” and Cade as they tried to make a quick getaway. As they sprinted off, Kidman grabbed at the fan’s hat and tugged it off, revealing none other than Lady Lila! The duo made haste to avoid cameras.

As Rodriguez was assisted to the back, fans quickly turned sour as Preston Booth, III made his way to the interview stage with his “Creature from the Congo” Kumanji.

“Another show, another payday, another step in the direction of success for my monster Kumanji. I’m telling you now Kidman, NO ONE can stop him!”

*******************************************************************
Kumanji w/ Preston Booth III
vs.
Owen Mack & B.J. Wood
*******************************************************************

A few headbutts, a gorilla press slam, and a Congo Splash spelled quick victory for Kumanji.

RESULT: Kumanji wins via pin w/ the Congo Splash

Preston returned to the interview stage.

“I’m telling you! I’m telling you! NOTHING can stop Kumanji!”

The fans were given an opportunity to go for snacks or the restroom as Kidman hyped the upcoming show which would feature the finals of the Southern Heritage Championship Tournament, Colby Castle taking on Brad Powers!

*******************************************************************
“The Gambler” Colby Castle & “Big Texas” Billy Murdoch
vs.
Chett “The Hangman” Hawkins & “The Southern Gentleman” Brad Powers
*******************************************************************

The match started out with Hawkins and Murdoch, who took very little time in laying into one another with stiff punches. Back and forth they went, with neither Texan willing to stand down.

Hawkins took control first, catching Murdoch offguard by countering a wildly-swung punch with a full-nelson slam. Powers tagged in and went to work on Murdoch’s leg. However, Powers was no match for the big Texan and found himself hanging high in the air via a stalling suplex! Hawkins quickly tagged in Castle, but Powers was quick to tag back out.

With his ribs injury fresh in his mind, Castle didn’t back down from Hawkins. Castle took control quickly with a series of arm drags, which was followed up with a missile dropkick from the second turnbuckle. However, a momentary distraction from Powers allowed Hawkins to damn near decapitate Castle with a lariat!

Powers was happy to tag in now and immediately went to work on Castle’s ribs. Thus, the match progressed in such fashion as Powers and Hawkins utilized quick tags to work Castle over. The vastly popular Castle would not give in, however, despite being locked in a bearhug by Hawkins for almost two minutes! Castle fought out and tied Hawkins up with an inside cradle for two. Quickly the Gambler tagged out and Murdoch exploded into the ring with a big boot for Hawkins!

Again, the two longhorns battled it out, but this time it was a blind tag by Powers that allowed him to clip the big Texan from behind. Again, the team of Powers and Hawkins utilized quick tags and went to work on Murdoch’s leg. It seemed that all was lost when Powers managed to grab Murdoch’s tree-like legs in a Texas Cloverleaf!

“Big Texas” powered out, though, but Powers tagged in Hawkins who prevented Murdoch from tagging in Castle. Hawkins continued to dominate, working over Murdoch’s leg. It wasn’t until Murdoch ducked a tornado punch, which Hawkins gamely followed up with a lariat, that Murdoch nailed Hawkins with a lariat of his own! With both men down and out, they crawled for their respective corners. Chants of “Murdoch” rung in the air as Castle made the hot tag and the crowd exploded!

Castle flew into the ring as Powers tagged in, and then realized what he did! Castle went to town on the “Southern Gentleman” with lefts and rights! Powers tried to escape, but Castle brought Powers back to the middle of the ring with a German suplex! Hawkins tried to interfere, but Murdoch took him to the outside. The momentary distraction allowed Powers to kick Castle in the ribs and set up for the Headcracker! Castle, however, quickly countered out of it and DRILLED Brad Powers with the Royal Flush that earned him a pinfall victory!

RESULT: “The Gambler” Colby Castle & “Big Texas” Billy Murdoch win via pin w/ the Royal Flush

The brawl between Murdoch and Hawkins could not be contained to the ringside area and soon the two disappeared behind the curtains.

Meanwhile in the ring, Brad Powers finally came to. He found Colby Castle waiting for him, who informed him that he just beat him clean in the ring and then motioned he would be the first ever Southern Heritage Champion!

Kidman thanked the fans for attending and reminded them to come out to the next show for the finals of the Southern Heritage Championship tournament.

SCW Live Event – 08.15.09

Location: National Guard Armory in Winder, GA

The show kicked off with Joey Kidman welcoming the fans. Almost immediately “The Southern Gentleman” Brad Powers found his way over to the interview stage.

“Last time we were here I put that punk-nosed Daniels on ice. He’s injured and out of here! Now tonight, I’ve got that big, dumb, Texas-moron Billy Murdoch. Well let me tell you somethin’ Murdoch. Only two things come out of Texas, steers and queers. I don’t see any horns on you brother!”

Kidman, taken aback by the abrasive comments of Powers, was further shocked by the appearance of Colby Castle!

“Hey buddy, I’m starting to have a right big problem with ya. You think you’re a tough guy taking Daniel’s knee out like ya did? Well tonight, it ain’t gonna be that simple buddy. Chips are in Powers, and I think HIS cowboys are gonna kill your tens!”

With those words Castle pointed to the mammoth of a Texas looming behind Powers! Murdoch proceeded to level Powers with a stiff punch! After that, Murdoch grabbed Powers and tossed the Southern Gentleman into the ring!

*******************************************************************

[Southern Heritage Championship Tournament – Semi Finals]

“Big Texas” Billy Murdoch

vs.

“The Southern Gentleman” Brad Powers

*******************************************************************

Murdoch immediately laid waste to Powers with a vicious series of clubbing forearms! The Southern Gentleman tried to make way to the outside, but Big Texas wouldn’t comply! Murdoch continued his dominating effort, almost breaking Powers in half with a vicious powerslam. However, a well-placed thumb to the eye allowed Powers to turn the match in his favor. Powers slowed things down by working the leg, playing off the injury he gave Daniels. Ultimately, though, Murdoch valiant fought back and seemed ready to take win! Yet with the referee out of position, a swift kick below the belt gave Powers the opportunity to nail the Headcracker and get the pin to advance to the finals.

RESULT: “The Southern Gentleman” Brad Powers wins via pin w/ the Headcracker.

Joey Kidman tried to get a word from Powers, but Powers was uncharacteristically at a loss for them! Kidman then approached Murdoch, who had this to say:

“That sumbitch dun’ went and pissed off the wrong cowboy.”

As Murdoch left the ringside area, Joey Kidman properly ran down the card for the show. Kidman then called for the arrival of SCW owner, Ken Wisenbaker! Ken came out with the briefcase contained the SCW Southern Heritage Championship. Ken immediately addressed the fans.

“I want to say thank you to all of you for making this second SCW event a success. I’m happy that we have even more fans here tonight than two weeks ago! Like all wrestling, SCW will only go as far as you take us! We couldn’t do this without you, thank you! Now, let’s get on to business. When tonight is over we’ll have two finalists in the Southern Heritage Championship Tournament. These two finalists will have a resting period show before facing off against one another. So while they’ll participate in some fashion on our next live event, scheduled for August 29, the Southern Heritage Championship won’t be decided until September 12! On that night, we’re going to add a THIRD ROW to arena for the special occasion! Ticket prices will jump for it, which I know might not sound too appeasing, but I can guarantee you it will be well-worth the investment! Next order of business is the issue between the Cruisers and the 404 Mafia. I am happy to announce that I was able to come to an agreement with both teams and at the very next show, August 29, we’ll get the rematch that you want: the Cruisers vs. the 404 Mafia one more time!”

At this point, two very much disliked men made their way to ringside: Jeremy Anderson and Davey Jackson – The Carolina Connection! Davey took the mic from Wisenbaker, to say this:

“Look here Ken, no one cares about the thugs and no one cares about the pretty-boys. Jeremy and I want to know about this: when are we going to get some tag team gold put around our waists?”

Wisenbaker looked to respond, but Anderson cut him off.

“Look here you bunch of Bulldog-idiots! What you see here is the top tag team in the WORLD. Not just the South, not just the nation, but the WORLD. Now, I realize wholeheartedly that being #1 is something you bunch of idiots don’t get. How’s that 13 treating you anyway? Fact is, we want gold – and Ken, you better start providing it.”

With that, the Carolina Connection made their way to the ring where two students of the Tully Nixon School of Grappling awaited them!

*******************************************************************

The Carolina Connection (Jeremy Anderson & Davey Jackson)

vs.

Ted Harper & Kevin Magnus

*******************************************************************

The Carolina-natives made quick work of the two students. After spending a few minutes toying with and dominating Kevin, Magnus finally managed to tag in the unwilling Harper. A quick Compacter (bearhug/clothesline-combo) later, the Carolina Connection scored the victory.

RESULT: The Carolina Connection wins via pin w/ the Compacter.

After that Miguel Rodriguez made his way to the interview stage. Kidman asked the Star from South of the Border how he was feeling after last week’s unfortunate loss.

“No problemo esse! I’ve been beaten before but I always come back ready for more!”

After that quick word, Miguel got in the ring to face his opponent.

*******************************************************************

Aiden Land

vs.

Miguel Rodriguez

*******************************************************************

The match started off at a very brisk pace as both men tried to outmaneuver the other with their quick repertoire. The veteran-Rodriguez managed to outsmart the rookie-Land and from there on took control. A series of high octane moves had Land reeling, but to the student’s credit, he managed to kick out of both a sunset flip and a victory roll from Rodriguez! Rodriguez continued to poor on the punishment with a series of dropkicks only to be taken by surprised via a series of dropkicks from Land! Land seemed to have momentum on his side, but he made the cardinal rookie mistake of posturing too much for the crowd which allowed Rodriguez to nail an out-of-nowhere flying forearm! One frog splash later and Rodriguez picked up his first win in SCW.

RESULT: Miguel Rodriguez wins via pin w/ the Frog Splash.

Out next was the much-maligned Preston Booth, III with his Creature from the Congo, Kumanji. Kumanji looked on menacingly as Preston addressed the fans in attendance.

“It was by only the slimmest of margins that the “Fluke Gambler” Colby Castle squeaked out a win two weeks ago over my predator Kumanji. Castle, we ain’t forgotten about you boy, rest assured your time will come! Now let’s get onto other matters. I’m not at all satisfied with how things went last time out, so I called up Tully Nixon and told him to send someone over for my Creature of the Congo to tear apart. Then it came to me, and I said to myself: ‘Well hell Preston, ain’t a one of Nixon’s boys going to be able to take Kumanji. Tell him to send two.’ And that, my friends, is what you see in the ring presently. Two of Tully Nixon’s finest whoever they may be! Kumanji! Go rip ‘em in half!”

*******************************************************************

Kumanji

vs.

The Masked Rebels

*******************************************************************

In mere seconds Kumanji dismantled the tag team of the Masked Rebels. A Congo Splash on both men sealed their fate.

RESULT: Kumanji wins via pin w/ the Congo Splash.

Moore took the mic again.

“Let this be a lesson to everyone who’s watching! Kumanji is here and you best start clearin’ a path!”

At this point Joey Kidman called for an intermission and hyped the second half of the show.

As intermission proceeded, the 404 Mafia made their way to the interview stage. Taken aback by this surprise appearance, Kidman offered K-Murda the microphone.

“Now last time we was here, those crackas da Cruisas got all up in our bidness. We ain’t da ones to mess wit’. Last weekend, me and Shan was at the house playin’ spades wit’ some real hard nuccas, and when dem motherfuzzas tried to renig, well, they ain’t walkin’ too pretty right, knowatimean? Dat’s just how we do thangs in the 4-0-4. Those Cruisas want to start shit, we gon’ finish it.”

That was enough to bring out Mikey Cox and Jimmy Swann, collectively known as the Cruisers, who had very little to say and plenty of punches to throw! The brawling erupted all over the interview area, with Cox and K-Murda eventually rolling into the ring. With that, the bell was called for an intermission was over!

*******************************************************************

Mikey Cox

vs.

K-Murda

*******************************************************************

Less of a wrestling match and more of a brawl, the action kicked off hot and heavy! Neither man seemed to gain an advantage over the other as they pounded the snot at of one another. The heavier, more powerful K-Murda eventually gained the advantage with a well-timed high knee strike. From there, K-Murda used every underhanded tactic in the book to dominate Cox.

Having finally been separated, Swann and Lil’ Shan remained on the outside to motive their respective partners. Shan’s motivation, however, ended up being a little more hands out. K-Murda would distract the referee, allowing Shan to nail the unsuspecting Cox!

K-Murda used a rear chinlock to slow down the much faster Cox. Swann however managed to get the crowd into the match, and the fiery fans managed to motivate Cox to fight out of the hold! With a series of dropkicks and a diving legdrop from the second turnbuckle, it seemed as though Mikey Cox had finally pushed the momentum in his favor! Mikey attempted the pin, but Lil’ Shan distracted the referee! Around the way came Jimmy Swann to remove Shan from the equation, but doing so allowed K-Murda to blitz Cox with a foreign object! K-Murda nailed a gourdbuster to follow up, just in time for the referee to return his attention to the match and count the pinfall.

RESULT: K-Murda wins via pin w/ a gourdbuster.

The 404 Mafia escaped as Jimmy Swann checked on his partner. After awhile, both men approached the interview stage. Swann decided to speak for his hurt partner.

“Tell me why I’m not surprised at what just happened Kidman? Tell me why! I’ll tell you why! That 404 Mafia? They ain’t nothing but a bunch of two-bit thug punks. Well hey you all heard Wisenbaker earlier. We get you next time out Mafia! And if you think we’re coming at you with anything less than the intention of teaching your ass some manners, well you got another thing coming!”

At that point the Cruisers left the interview stage.

Out next was “Florida’s Finest” Andy Cade, with the Lady Lila. Cade, who is never short for words, took the microphone from Joey Kidman.

“It’s always tough to be a man like me in this business. I’m a hard-working man. Yet everything I do right, someone else comes and does wrong. Take that idiot Billy Murdoch for example. There I am in that ring, warming up. That stupid Texan comes barging in and kicks me before the bell even rings! And you idiots cheer him! [The crowd, of course, responded very favorably to Billy Murdoch and even begun a small “Murdoch” chant!] That’s fine, because you’re nothing but a bunch of uneducated Georgia-fans. Well I got news for you. Just like my good friend, Tim Tebow, I play by the rules and I’m a winner. Not only that, but I’m a honorable man too! I would NEVER kick a man when wasn’t looking and I would NEVER quit my team to go play for Detroit or Denver! And you! FAT BOY! Quit looking at her! I’ll come over there and slap the tobacco out your mouth you dumb idiot!”

With that, Andy Cade entered the ring.

*******************************************************************

Andy Cade w/ Lady Lila

vs.

Derek Little

*******************************************************************

Before the bell could be signaled for, Andy Cade leveled Derek from behind! Cade followed up with a series of boots to the face of the Tully Nixon-student. Cade continued to dominate the match with strong athletic prowess. It appeared that the Florida-born ego could be backed up! Cade demolished Little with a series of vicious backbreakers, before nailing Little with the Blindsider (a forward Russian legsweep) to get the win.

RESULT:Florida’s Finest” Andy Cade wins via pin w/ the Blindsider.

Having apparently not said enough, Andy Cade took the mic again.

“Is that the best you bunch of inbred hicks have to offer? Certainly someone can come out here, fight me fair, and give me a challenge right?”

The crowd was happy to cheer for the man who approached the interview stage. It was none other than Miguel Rodriguez!

“Hey esse, you want a challenge? No problemo! Next time we’re here, we get in that ring and have it out. It’ll be la peor experiencia de tu vida; the worst experience of your life!”

Andy Cade nodded in approval, almost nonchalantly, before leaving.

Kidman announced the participants for the next match.

*******************************************************************

The Baker Brothers (Eric & Jeff Baker)

vs.

Sammy Jones & Matt Trainor

*******************************************************************

The incredibly popular Baker Brothers made short work of the students, which was somewhat par for the course for the evening. They quickly nailed the Skyliner (an electric chair/flying clothesline-combo) on Trainor for the win.

RESULT: The Baker Brothers win via pin w/ the Skyliner

Afterwards, Eric and Jeff approached the interview stage. Eric started the promo.

“There is nothing better in the world than to perform in front of a bunch of the Bulldog Nation! Well, well let me take that back. There is one thing. That one thing is taking a pair of Carolina sissy boys and showing them how the Bulldog Nations runs. I heard what Jackson and Anderson had to say earlier and it made my blood boil. And when my blood boils I hurt people Kidman. I’m looking to hurt you Jeremy Anderson. I’m looking to hurt you Davey Jackson. Consider the challenge as thrown out there boys! The Baker Brothers are coming for you! Tell ‘em what we’re goin’ to do to ‘em Jeff!”

“SIC ‘EM! WHOOF WHOOF WHOOF!”

The crowd popped huge at those words and the Baker Brothers exited the interview stage.

At last the time for the main event came and Kidman announced the participants.

*******************************************************************

[Southern Heritage Championship Tournament – Semi-Finals]

“The Gambler” Colby Castle

vs.

Chett “The Hangman” Hawkins

*******************************************************************

With a chance at being the first Southern Heritage Champion, neither man held back. The match kicked off as a bit of a brawl. Both men traded punches, kicks, chops, and high impact moves.

As Hawkins began to swing momentum in his favor, Castle gamely changed his style to wrestling. Easily, the Georgia-native outclassed the huge Texan when it came to matwrestling. However, the wily Hawkins would not be outdone and, utilizing a swift rake to the eye, took control.

Hawkins managed to dominate the crowd favorite-Castle using various high impact moves, like a gorilla press slam at one point, mixed in with various weardown holds, like a claw-hold. The fans tried to rally behind Colby, who indeed managed to fight out of said clawhold, but a quick discus punch took the Gambler right back down! Hawkins locked Castle in a full-nelson and it seemed that “The Hangman” had secured him a spot against Brad Powers.

The fans continued to motive Castle, however, who managed to turn Hawkins’ submission hold against him (Hawkins) by diving towards the turnbuckle and driving Hawkins’ head first into it!

Both men went at it full-force, with Castle being driven by a second wind! A flying clothesline from the top turnbuckle came very close to scoring the pinfall for Castle, but Hawkins wasn’t yet ready to give in. The two continued to brawl, but an errant lariat from Hawkins nearly decapitated the referee! Colby capitalized on the hesitant Hawkins and nailed the Texan with his Royal Flush! However no referee was able to make the count.

Castle tried to stir the referee and finally did manage to awaken him. However, with the referee looking on, Castle turned around only to be DRILLED with the cowbell that hung from Hawkins’ trusty bullrope! The referee immediately called for the bell!

RESULT: “The Gambler” Colby Castle wins via DQ after being hit by a cowbell

Blood began to trickle from Castle’s forehead as Hawkins lifted “The Gambler” up and nailed him with a vicious Texas Tower Bomb! The referee tried to stop Hawkins, but was knocked out for his efforts! Another Texas Tower Bomb was enough to full incapacitate Castle, which allowed Hawkins to hang the Georgia-native with the bullrope! A bevy of referees and fellow wrestlers managed to run Hawkins off.

As officials checked in on Colby Castle, Joey Kidman lamented:

“I have no idea why Hawkins would cost himself a shot at the Southern Heritage Championship folks. Maybe we’ll find out next time.”

SCW Live Event – 08.01.09

Location: National Guard Armory in Winder, GA

The set up was reminiscent of an 80s wrestling show. The ring was surrounded by three sets of crowds. The crowds were set up as two rows and then a set of bleachers behind them for general admission. On the side of the ring without a crowd was a stage with a desk for commentary-expert Joey Kidman. Behind the stage was a huge curtain with the SCW logo on it.

Joey Kidman began the show by thanking the fans in attendance for showing up. Joey brought up his history in the business calling matches for “just about every wrasslin’ promotion that the south has been home to.” Joey then invited SCW Owner Ken Wisenbaker out.

Ken brought with him a metal briefcase. Ken also thanked the fans and presented to them what he called the Southern Heritage Championship! Ken explained that an eight man tournament will be conducted over the next couple of shows to determine the first ever Southern Heritage Champion.

That brought out “The Southern Gentleman” Brad Powers. Brad had this to say:

“Let’s face it brother, y’might as well put that belt around this here waist ‘cause that’s where it’ll end up anyhow. I’ve been in just about every promotion the south has seen in the last decade and I’ve been the top dog in each one. This one won’t be no different.”
Ken happily announced that Brad was the number one seed in the tournament, which managed to placate the Southern Gentleman’s ego. Powers was immediately thrown for a loop when Ken decided to introduce the number two seed, “The Gambler” Colby Castle!

Colby then came out to address Brad Powers. Colby said this:

“Now I know I’m fairly new to this whole Georgia-scene, despite being a Georgia-man myself, but I’ll say this: the cards are dealt and buddy I got a pair of pocket faces for ya. This one ain’t over ‘til all the chips are in! I’ll see ya at the river Powers.”

Powers laughed Castle off and exited stage left promptly. Colby nodded disapprovingly and left as well. Ken thanked the fans again before leaving, allowing Joey Kidman to introduce the inaugural Southern Championship Wrestling match!

The Carolina Connection (Jeremy Anderson & Davey Jackson)

vs.

Aiden Land & Mario Petrelli

*******************************************************************

The Carolina Connection found there way to SCW by way of Carolinas Pro Wrestling. Land and Petrelli were two rosters members who got in via the working agreement with Tully Nixon’s School of Grappling.

The two students found themselves easily outmatched by the veteran Carolina Connection. Anderson and Jackson worked over the kids with traditional-style tag wrestling. By separating Aiden from Mario, the Connection was able to make quick work of the students, finishing Aiden off well before the ten minute mark with a bearhug (by Davey)/running clothesline (by Jeremy) combo known to wrestling fans in the Carolinas as the Compacter.

RESULT: The Carolina Connection win via pin w/ the Compacter.

Afterwards the Carolina Connection made their way to Joey Kidman. Jeremy had a few quick words for the fans:

“Quite frankly we don’t give a damn about what you think of us, just know that we’re going to dominate this territory just like everywhere else we’ve been.”

Up next, Joey Kidman announced the first match in the Southern Heritage Championship Tournament.

[Southern Heritage Championship Tournament – Round One]

Chett “The Hangman” Hawkins

vs.

Miguel Rodriguez

*******************************************************************

Before getting in the ring, Chett ripped the microphone from Joey’s hand to address Miguel:

“Look here boy, you got the option now of gettin’ out that damn ring ‘fore I tied ya up wit’ mah rope!”

Chett swung the rope menacingly but the Superstar from South of the Border was not fazed. Chett grinned at the opportunity to send Miguel back south and entered the ring.

With the match underway, Miguel tried to counteract the size and strength of Hawkins with quickness and agility. Miguel kept one step ahead of Chett in the early goings of the match, managing to take the Hangman off his feet on more than one occasion. Flustered, Hawkins wildly swung with a lariat that nearly decapitated Rodriguez. From there on the Texan took control.

Chett utilized his power for several pin attempts, most notably with a full nelson slam that came oh-so-close. Another lariat attempt by Chett was countered with a flying forearm by Rodriguez and it seemed that Miguel was poised for a comeback! Chett, however, countered a flying bodypress by Rodriguez rather impressively by catching Miguel and then maneuvering him into position for the Texas Tower Bomb that got the Hangman the victory.

RESULT: Chett “The Hangman” Hawkins wins via pin w/ the Texas Tower Bomb.

Chett returned to the stage afterwards and again ripped the microphone away from Joey Kidman. Chett addressed the crowd:

“Let this be a lesson for the rest of yehs!”

Joey Kidman took a moment to thank some of the sponsors of tonight’s event and encouraged the fans to check out the merchandise table. Joey also thanked the SCW Live Event Street Team for their efforts in promoting tonight’s event. While doing this, a smug Preston Booth, III made his way to the stage.

“Hello, again, Georgia! I need not introduce myself because you already know who the Southern Aristocrat is. I’ve made a habit of taking over every area I’ve been too with my “collection” Joey Kidman, and Southern Championship Wrestling won’t be any different. You see tonight, I’ve brought with me a creature from the deepest, darkest corner of the Congo.”

With those words a massive black man stepped out. Piercing adorned his nose, ears, and eyebrows. White paint striped his forehead.

“Now you may look and laugh at my predator, but I assure you that would be most unwise. For you see in the past some people have paraded out monsters from the continent Africa as jokes. My Kumanji, however, is a true beast in every sense of the word. In fact, he’s already a part of this little championship tournament we got going on. I don’t know who’s been the unlucky individual to draw the Creature from the Congo, but tonight just simply wasn’t his lucky night.”

On that note Preston guided the massive Kumanji to the ring. As he did so, the number two seed in the tournament, Colby Castle, made his way to the stage.

“Hell of a draw Kidman, hell of a draw! That’s alright though because life’s a gamble buddy, ANTE UP!”

*******************************************************************

[Southern Heritage Championship Tournament – Round One]

“The Gambler” Colby Castle

vs.

Kumanji w/ Preston Booth, III

*******************************************************************

Colby kicked the match off by trying to outmaneuver the 400+ lb giant. Utilizing a series of quick strikes and dropkicks, Colby managed to control the first portion of the match. That all changed however as Preston Moore, III distracted Colby from a high risk maneuver off of the turnbuckle that allowed Kumanji to send the Gambler to the floor.

From there Kumanji slowed the pace of the match way down with a nerve-pinch, cited by Joey Kidman as the African Nerve Pinch. Using a collection of power moves, such as a running avalanche splash, Kumanji managed to wear down the clear crowd favorite. A bearhug by the Creature from the Congo seemed to spell doom for Castle, but with the crowd support behind him, the Gambler fought his way out! Colby mounted the turnbuckles and nailing a flying bodypress, but it wasn’t enough as Kumanji easily pressed out.

Colby attempted his finisher, the Royal Flush (known also as an Olympic Slam), but the giant Kumanji was too heavy. Kumanji quickly turned the tide again thanks to another distraction from his manager and managed to get Colby in position for the Congo Splash (a corner slingshot splash). However, Colby quickly came to and managed to grab a hold of Kumanji and press off the giant off the turnbuckles with the Royal Flush! That was enough to garner a semi-final match for Colby Castle!

RESULT: “The Gambler” Colby Castle wins via pin w/ the Royal Flush

Colby signed a few autographs for the fans as Joey Kidman announced a 15-minute intermission.

After intermission two thugs, as best as they can be described, approached the stage. Joey Kidman introduced them as K-Murda and Lil’ Shan (pronounced “Shawn”), the 404 Mafia. Lil’ Shan took the microphone first.

“Watchit cracka. Look here, all you bitches can hate us all you want, but da 404 Mafia is here to represent dat A-T-L, ya heard? We gon’ be wig-splittin’ crackas and house nuccas all up in dis, OK?”

K-Murda then spoke his piece.

“Ya’ll listen up. This is fo’ real. We ain’t here for games. I’m here ta hurt some people, OK? I’m here to make ya bleed and get my chedda’. What _YOU_ need to do honkey (K-Murda poked Kidman), is get that _OTHER_ honkey out here so dat we can find out what we need ta do ta get some gold around our waist.”

Before Kidman could call Wisenbaker out though, the crowd popped pretty huge for Mikey Cox and Jimmy Swann, the Cruisers! Swann spoke his mind:

“Now you don’t wrestle in the south and not hear a word or two about the 404 Mafia. I’ve heard it all. You’re two bad as hell, tough as nails, street thugs with a hell of a record – and I mean both in the sport and in jail. Funny thing is though, we’ve been wrestling in the south for just about as long as you two have and wouldn’t you know it, we’ve never actually been in the ring against one another. So Mikey and myself are sitting in the back, wondering just why we’re here, and then we hear little Webster over there running off at the mouth. Well I tell you what, we do our talking in the ring. Why don’t you join us?”

Swann tossed the mic to Lil’ Shan and then he, alongside Mikey Cox, entered the ring and beckoned to the 404 Mafia. Shan said this, before entering the ring:

“I know those two crackas just try us like that. Let’s do this Murda.”

*******************************************************************

The 404 Mafia (Lil’ Shan & K-Murda)

vs.

The Cruisers (Mikey Cox & Jimmy Swann)

*******************************************************************

A brawl immediately erupted in the ring for this first-time showdown between two well-known southern tag teams! Cox and Shan paired off and brawled around the ringside area while Swann and K-Murda went at each other in the ring. A bell was rung, but there was little in the way of any control.

While inside the ring the brawling was fairly within the realm of the rules, outside was another story. Shan had no qualms bringing a steel chair down across Cox’s back and, later, Cox had no qualms returning the favor. Shan managed to bust Cox open by ramming Cox into the steel post.

Inside the ring, a bulldog by Swann probably could have secured a victory but the heat that somehow exploded out of nowhere between the teams refused to let it end like that. The brawling continued.

After over ten minutes of straight carnage, the referee gave up and threw the match out. Thinking that a simple ringing of the bell would end the carnage was poor judgment, however, as the brawl continued! A flood of referees and Tully Nixon-students was what it took to finally separate the two teams.

RESULT: No Contest

Joey Kidman took a second to breathe, apologize for the madness that had just ensued. Ken Wisenbaker made a return to the stage to speak his mind.

“What you just saw is not how we plan on running things here, and you can bet your bottom dollar both teams are going to have some fines to pay before the end of the day. That said it’s obvious that a problem has emerged between both the Cruisers and the 404 Mafia. If business has to be settled, let’s settle it. I tell you what, next time we’re here we’ll see K-Murda take on Mikey Cox in singles action. How does that sound?”

The fans roared with approval!

Joey Kidman plugged the merchandise table as the young Andy Cade made his way to the stage. With Andy was the beautiful Lady Lila, his valet. Andy, nicknamed “Florida’s Finest,” sported blue and orange wrestling shorts. The crowd responded negatively in kind.

“Haha, you can hate all you want boys. Florida’s Finest’ is invading the Bulldog Nation and there isn’t one thing you can do about it. As a young, athletic, educated black man in America, I have to compete against the biggest the world has to offer, so let me assure that a bunch of dumb, inbred, redneck, Bulldog loving hicks like yourselves won’t bother me one bit. And – hey FAT BOY, keep your eyes off the lady before I come over there and stomp your ass like we did your team last year! Yeah that’s what I thought. Anyway, as I was saying. I don’t know who Wisenbaker has lined up for me in this Southern Heritage Championship tournament, and I don’t really care, because excellence is something that UF instills in all its alum, and excellence is what’s going to take me to the Southern Heritage Championship. Let’s go baby.”

Andy approached the ring but quickly returned to the stage to add:

“And oh yeah, GO GATORS!”

*******************************************************************

[Southern Heritage Championship Tournament – Round One]

Florida’s Finest” Andy w/ Lady Lila

vs.

“Big Texas” Billy Murdoch

*******************************************************************

Big Texas did not indulge in the pageantries. Murdoch stormed the ring, tossing his ten-gallon hat and black vest to the side, and drilled Cade with a big boot. Murdoch quickly grabbed Cade, slung Cade over his (Murdoch’s) shoulder, and drove Cade into the mat with the Oil Driller (a sitout side powerslam)! That sealed the deal quickly for the big man.

RESULT: “Big Texas” Billy Murdoch wins via pin w/ the Oil Driller

It seemed like Kidman wanted a word with Billy Murdoch, but Murdoch simply stormed to right to back, leaving Andy Cade unconscious in the ring with a visibly shaken Lady Lila.

*******************************************************************

[Southern Heritage Championship Tournament – Round One]

“Hotshot” Stevie Daniels

vs.

“The Southern Gentleman” Brad Powers

*******************************************************************

Neither man asked for promo time and thus the main event got underway! The match kicked off with a long series of chain wrestling! Powers tried to keep the usually explosive and high flying Daniels grounded, but Daniels was able to match Powers hold-for-hold!

Inevitably the years and expertise of Powers won out, and Powers began to work the leg. Brad at one point locked Daniels in a Texas Cloverleaf for an extended amount of time. The fiery Daniels would not submit, however, and eventually was saved by the ropes. Powers continued the assault on Daniels leg however, effectively grounding the high flyer.

However, the courageous Daniels refused to given in and the frustrated Powers resorted to underhanded tactics to gain the win. Numerous times Powers poked the eye or attempted a pin following a variation of a neckbreaker (something of specialty for Powers) with two feet on the ropes.

Daniels managed to counter a vertical suplex with a sunset flip. While it didn’t get the pin, it was good enough to shift the momentum in the Hotshot’s direction! A series of ranas sent Powers to the outside. Daniels didn’t let the Southern Gentleman powder for long, as Daniels slingshotted himself outside onto Powers! The match quickly degraded into a brawl as both men slugged it out on the floor.

They finally re-entered the ring and Daniels scored his umpteenth near-fall off of a victory roll. Daniels went up top to attempt a high flying maneuver, but Powers kicked the ropes which caused Daniels to not only lose his balance, but crash hard to the floor outside the ring!

The referee checked in on Daniels but Powers would not relent. Powers quickly rolled Daniels into the ring and nailed the Hotshot with the Headcracker (a legdrop bulldog)! It was just enough for Powers to get the duke.

RESULT: “The Southern Gentleman” Brad Powers wins via pin w/ the Headcracker.

Afterwards Brad Powers locked Stevie Daniels in the Texas Cloverleaf again! The crowd roared with disapproval but then exploded as Colby Castle stormed the ring for the save! Colby and Brad eyed each other intensely before Brad departed to the locker room.

Colby and the referee checked on Stevie, who had to be stretchered out, as Joey Kidman thanked the fans in attendance for coming and announced that the next show would be on August 15, 2009!
